For the Love of Family

Maybe I am crazy, but my life is so happy as of late. I can’t say there aren’t problems, because there are always problems. But, I can say that I can overlook them…that I can easily work on them. And, what else really matters?

My nieces and nephews can fix any problem with mad kisses and Cars III books. They dress up like bat man and Optimus Prime and save me from being tied to the train tracks.

LB’s family lives five minutes from my Uncle Scott’s house, and I feel so lucky to be able to spend time with both of them. My cousins are so awesome, and so are her (aka my) nieces and nephews. I just feel so fucking blessed to have so many little ones I love so much in my life.

Of course, so many things are still missing. I often wonder if some people realize how short this life truly is. It’s a flash, and then we are gone. And, I know this is a little too serious for my usual blog posts, but honesty is where it’s at…and I’m trying that our for size these days.

There’s something to be said for spending time with people who make your heart feel fifty times bigger. And, these guys make me so happy that everything else in life doesn’t seem to matter anymore. Perhaps best of all, when a child says it, they mean it. When it comes from an adult, who really knows if it’s serious or not? Adults don’t say what they mean, nor do they mean what they say (most of the time, anyway.) Kids love you for no other reason than that you exist…and you come bearing gifts. I wish all of life could be that simple.

It’s true. This world is so fucked up. The country has gone insane, and no one seems to know left from right. It gets old. Give me kindness, love, impulsivity, laughter, honesty, awesome sex, sweet kisses, and the people who really matter in this world. We have so little time here. Let’s make it really count.

Happy fourth to alll of my American friends and family, and I’m sending mad love to those of you with better presidents than ours:) Every day can be a beautiful day if we just share the laughter, happiness, and love… and of course that great, life-altering sex!

Take care of yourselves and one another. We are all stuck here together. So–for once–let’s act like it:)

  2. Love, love, LOVE this post! Making it count is all that matters, and this needs to be communicated to everyone! Goddammit, we are all going to be gone in the blink of an eye. LIKE TOTALLY DEAD! Ugh. And, in the end, it’s the moments shared with those we love that will be remembered and treasured, not the stupid material things. I am thrilled that you are surrounded by so many beautiful people and are doing so well – and are happy! You guys deserve all the happiness and love your hearts can hold. Your post made me smile so much, thank you for writing this wonderful post! :)
